You play as a researcher named Sal who's tasked with gathering missing research lost by a coworker. You get to wander the facility to try and find it.

Features:
+ Multiple SCPS and deaths
+ Kill some D-Class by your own idiocy
+ A closet that would protect you from a bomb.
+ COLOR! WONDEROUS COLOR!

Controls:

  • WASD or Arrow keys to move
  • A: Alt, z, j
  • B: control, k, x
  • Start: Enter

Hints for people having trouble:
+ If you gather all the research you can find go talk to the boss. He should have a keycard for you. You need 7 in order to get the keycard.
+ If you have issues with the mask try not looking directly at them or rapid smash the A button.
+ If you have issues with the shy guy just won't walk up there.
+  If you have issues with 106 just find a closet. he'll really only catch you by cutting corners. This may change later.
+ Dodging 682 is easier then it looks. wait for him to swing, disappear and then BOOK IT.

This is a very small game I made to test the logistics and feasibility for GB Studio 2.0. I may come back to it from time to time to update it or add new things.
I'd like to add new music but I am decidedly not a composer so for now it'll just have music from my other game.

Nice little game had a lot of fun with it.
What I really like is that you get different things from the vending machine and I think the Death screens are awesome (They seemed to be made with a lot of love).

But because I like to look at games with a lot of detail I found a few things, not big things, just some I think you should know of to maybe fix them someday.

  • You can walk through the Table of the room when you walk from Dr. [] straight to the right.
  • I was able to glitch myself through the door of SCP-035 by holding [A] (on the keyboard) so each time after the text that I need a keycard I move one field further left through the door. But after you're in there, you can't get out again.
  • When you try to enter the room of SCP-106 (before you have a keycard) the white light flashes up like you're about to enter it before getting the usual text that you can't.
  • The only thing that bugged me a little bit was that even if you have the option for it, you can't start a new game without reloading the entire page. What happens if you select new game is that you start at the beginning, but you still have everything of your old game.

What I haven't found out is how you're supposed to kill the D-Personal or for what you use the B Button.

really enjoyed this. How did you get a virtual game boy to pop up in the phone? It made to so easy to play.

Music is awful, too monotonous.

Woah this game is really cool I really enjoyed it!

I really enjoy the art in this game, and while a simple prototype, it is effective in giving me a cool place to explore!
I think the "main" music is a bit grating, the loop is too small so I got sick of it pretty quickly! (Not trying to be rude, just letting you know why I didn't like it)

Are you going to be taking part in the GBjam? I bet some people would love to have you as an artist or game designer!

I haven’t really been looking into the Jams. I’ll have to check that out.

Yeah I apologize about the music. I am not a composer by any means and the file type the editor uses is a bit weird so there isn’t a lot of options other then doing it yourself. It’s why I’m hoping to find a musician to help compose BETTER music for either of my games.

A list of potential improvements in here:

  • You should make avatars for the characters.
  • Fix spelling errors. "thier" is not a word, and words start with big letters.
  • It's the Level 5 Overseers. Not the Zero-Five people. Acknowledge this..
  • There are multiple stray black pixels that should be corrected.
  • The game is confusing and could be improved.

3/5. Pretty good art.

  • It’s still a small game that was mostly made to test a few things hence the lack of avatars for now.
  • I haven’t noticed all the spelling errors just because staring at text for hours on end really makes that hard sometimes. +I am pretty sure I did use an O not a zero in that but I might need to go edit my font to make it more clear.

Thank you for the criticism.

actually they are also called the 05, well not the 05 people per say but 05 is their definition of sorts. so that complaint is a bit of a moot point , yeah i can see the pixel problems and thoose black pixels randomly arround . gameboy music was never great to begin with, and also some small grammar mistakes arrent gonna be noticed by almost anyone. and also the pixel-ish text could have caused you to see words differently

The new beta fixed a lot of that somewhat by being able to preview it better. Figure ill eventually update this game more using the new engine.
